Mr. Emeka C. Moneme, Acting Director
District Department of Transportation
2000 – 14th Street, N.W.
Washington, D.C. 20009
Dear Mr. Moneme:
At a duly noticed public meeting on January 17, 2007, Advisory Neighborhood Commission 3F (ANC 3F), voted 6-0-0 with a quorum present (a quorum being four) to request that DDOT restore residential permit parking signs on the south side of the 2900 block of Upton Street, N.W., from the intersection of Upton Street with Connecticut Avenue to the first alley east of Connecticut. Parking restrictions in this location were changed temporarily during construction of the Edmund Burke School from July 2005 to November 2006. The construction is now complete.
Currently, the parking signs in this location read “No Parking 6:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.” They do not allow daytime parking either on weekdays or weekends. The original signs read:
Two Hour Parking
Limit In Zone 3
7:00 AM - 8:30 P.M.
Monday - Friday
Zone 3 Permit
Holders Excepted
We urge that DDOT restore this signage promptly so that residents will once again be able to enjoy residential parking privileges throughout the week. Thank you for your assistance.
Sincerely,
/s/ Cathy Wiss
