RE: Transportation Capital Project Public Involvement Process

Dear Ms. Smith:

ANC 3F has reviewed the list of multi-year street construction projects for Ward 3 that you sent for our evaluation. A team of residents has examined the roads and concluded that, although all of the roads on the list need attention, the local roads in Forest Hills east of Connecticut Avenue are in the worst shape. Accordingly, they have identified the following projects for consideration for the FY 2004 budget in order of priority:

• •Davenport Street, N.W., from 32^nd Street to Connecticut Avenue
• •32^nd Street, N.W., from Albemarle Street to Brandywine Street
• •Ellicott Street, N.W., from 30^th Street to Connecticut Avenue
• •Brandywine Street, N.W., from Linnean Avenue to Connecticut Avenue ⁽¹
• •30^th Street, N.W., from Grant Road to Davenport Street
• •Albemarle Street, N.W., from Linnean Avenue to 29^th Street

ANC 3F concurs that repair of these streets should be a priority for FY 2004. This list does not include any of the federally-funded Wards 3 and 4 Roadway Improvement Projects (Barney Circle Funds), which we understand have already been approved and are underway. ⁽²⁾ ANC 3F expects this new list to have no effect on the continued funding or progress of the Barney Circle projects, which we believe are important for our community.

We thank DDOT for this opportunity to participate in the Capital Improvement Plan and hope that any street repairs will be coordinated with repairs and installations made by utility companies.

This letter was approved by ANC 3F by a vote of 7 - 0 - 0 at a duly noticed public meeting on October 21, 2002, with a quorum present.
